What this service is

Durham NC Mold Remediation is a referral service. It passes your request to independent mold inspection and mold remediation companies that serve your area. It is not a mold company or a contractor, and it does not inspect, sample, clean, remediate or rebuild anything. The words "Mold Remediation" in its name are part of the name, not a description of work the site performs.

Free, with no obligation

Requesting quotes is free. You are never obligated to hire any company that contacts you. Companies may pay Durham NC Mold Remediation for the requests or calls they receive. The site does not rank or endorse companies, and companies reply on their own schedules.

The companies are independent

Companies that contact you are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Durham NC Mold Remediation. Any contract for work is between you and the company you choose. The site does not verify certifications, insurance or workmanship and cannot promise that any company holds a particular credential.

• North Carolina does not license mold inspection or remediation companies, so checking credentials is up to you.
• You can check IICRC and ACAC certifications on their public locators and ask each company for a certificate of insurance.
• Rebuild work of $40,000 or more needs an NC licensed general contractor (G.S. 87-1).
• State health guidance (NCDHHS, 2005) advises not hiring a consultant who also does the remediation. This is best practice, not a legal requirement.
• Older homes may need an accredited asbestos inspection before tear-out. Ask the company, or call the NC Health Hazards Control Unit at 919-707-5950.
• If a company sells you its services in your home, NC law generally gives a right to cancel an off-premises sale of $25 or more until midnight of the third business day (G.S. 14-401.13). Whether it applies depends on the contract.
